DSD Discussions
Disorders (or Differences) of Sex Development or Intersex is the topic, and where that will go is the major question. This blog and podcast will explore some of the impacts, insights, and experiences of DSD for affected adults, children, parents and partners, and society as a whole.

DSD Discussions Reboot
After the long silence caused mostly by very busy lives, we're going to be posting a new episode of DSD Discussions very soon! To kick off this reboot of the podcast, I recorded a presentation done at Skepticamp Colorado on May 7, 2011. For more information on Skepticamp, see the website at http://skepticamp.org/wiki/Main_Page.
My hope is to utilize Skype to make shorter podcasts with a wide variety of guests talking on whatever topics they are interested in or that come up in the news. I'd like to get these out on a weekly basis but given the fact that my schedule remains busy, that may be tough to accomplish, but there will be more episodes, I promise! and I'll keep you as updated as I can. Thanks for listening and please send comments or questions to us at dsddiscussions@gmail.com. Thanks!

DSD Discussions: EPISODE 002
Episode Two is here! With special guest, SKY!
This episode was inspired by Dan Savage and the project he started - the It Gets Better Project. For those who aren't yet aware, the project was started in response to a number of recent teen suicides involving gay teens who were bullied to the point that they felt they wanted to take their own lives. The project centers around a simple message to gay teens: "It gets better." And has encouraged gays and their allies from around the world to post videos of encouragement and inspiration, and let young people know that despite how it might seem, life does get better.
We felt that a similar message of hope was applicable to all teens, especially those with intersex conditions/DSDs. To that end, Kimberly, Sky, and I (Noi) recorded this podcast to let anyone with a DSD know that IT GETS BETTER!

Pilot Recording
This weekend we got a chance to make a pilot recording of DSD Discussions. We probably needed to be a bit more organized, but I think it went really well. We sounded pretty natural, I think, and it was easy to record and we had a good rapport. It is just so difficult to get these basics out of the way so that we can talk about some of the more interesting topics. We're also encountering some problems with the mic I purchased, but I think I can get that sorted out. I'm trying to figure out if we can have some space here for episodes, but I don't see that as a possibility. More to come soon.
